Conference Banquet Cruise:

The conference banquet will be a dinner cruise and is scheduled on  Wednesday 11/28/2007
 

The following is the detailed schedule:
5:45pm first bus leaves the Mariott hotel
6:00pm second bus leaves the hotel
6:15pm last bus leaves the hotel

6:15pm guests may start boarding
6:30pm the boat leaves the dock
9:30pm the boat returns to the dock
9:30pm - 9:45pm busses take people back to Marriott hotel

Hotel:

The primary venue for Middleware 2007 will be the Newport Beach Marriot Hotel & Spa. This hotel is located about 10 minutes from the University of California at Irvine (UCI) campus.

There is a special rate for Middleware 2007 conference which is US$169 per night. You may use     "mdlmdla" group code and click here for reservation with the conference special rate. Parking is not included in this rate. Parking is $16.00-$22.00 a night.

Hotel shuttle is complimentary to & from John Wayne airport. It leaves
the hotel at the top of the hour, every hour. So 6am, 7am and so on.
The shuttle picks up the guests at the airport once an hour, at the
bottom of the hour; at 6:30am, 7:30am and so on. It is on a 1st come,
1st serve basis and also stop at the Marriott Bayview Suites since it is on the way to the airport. It seats about
8-10ppl and stops at the ground transportation area at the airport. The shuttle is white & red with the hotel logo printed on the side.

20 more rooms have been added at the special conference rate for the previous Sunday and following Saturday for those wishing to stay longer.  We may be
able to request more if there is sufficient demand, but that they shouldn't expect slots to be available as we get closer to the conference dates.

Wireless High Speed Internet is available inside the meeting rooms, foyer area & registration desk. Please stop by the Middleware registration table located at the Newport Coast Registration Desk to receive the access code.  If you need Internet access in your room the following option is available:

Wired for Business is available in the guest rooms. For a set daily rate of $12.95 you get 1) wireless high speed internet in the guest room, hotel lobby and Starbucks, 2) unlimited local phone calls, 3) unlimited long distance calls (within the US).

 

 

 

Airports:

Orange County/Santa Ana/John Wayne - SNA
The best airport to fly into for Middleware is the Orange County airport (code SNA). This airport is also called the Santa Ana airport and the John Wayne Airport. Map and Directions

While it's possible to take a cab from LAX to the hotel in Newport Beach, it's probably going to cost you $100 for that. A cheaper alternative (~$45) is the shared ride vans:

Finally there is the Ontario airport.

Attractions:

 Disneyland Park, the classic Disneyland amusement park, and Disneyland California Adventure, a more modern thrill-ride amusement park, are located 23 miles from the Newport Beach Marriot. Driving times vary from 20 minutes to an hour based on traffic.

Beaches:
